Overview

The Media Studies program is for students with an interest in media or other related mass communication fields.聽 Our facilities include an active TV studio, podcasting studio, up-to-date audio-visual equipment, Mac and PC labs, and drones to prepare you for your day-to-day life when you enter the workforce. As a bonus, general communication courses required in the program help prepare our students to become proficient and professional communicators.

Media Studies opens a broad world of exciting opportunities for our students. The most common industries for graduates include TV and film, advertising, public relations, and journalism. The variety of occupations you could pursue includes film and video editor and camera operator, broadcast/sound/video technician, news analyst, reporter, journalist, interpreter or translator, writer, public relations specialist, and many more.

Admissions Requirements

There are no special requirements for admission. But聽36-42 credit hours need to be around Major & Concentration.聽For all communication students:

  • B.A. paths typically require 12 credit hours of foreign language (or less for advanced students) and a B.S. requires
  • B.S. paths require 6-8 credit hours of science or social science courses
