Leidy Montoya explored a variety of healthcare professions for over a decade before settling on becoming an occupational therapist. All of her roles, however, had one common element: patients and their well-being.

From September 30 to October 2, alumni gathered on the ������������̳ campus to celebrate their Highlander pride and to come together as family.

Radford’s Academic Success Center, the Center for Career and Talent Development and many of the university’s faculty presented the REAL Experience on Oct. 4, an event in which representatives from more than 45 academic programs were on hand to talk with students about exploring academic programs and student-engagement opportunities as well as majors and minors within Radford’s new REAL Curriculum

Interim President Carolyn Ringer Lepre, Ph.D., presented the annual State of the University address Friday morning, Oct. 1, 2021, in Bondurant Auditorium, highlighting and celebrating with the Radford family the progress the university has made in the past year and sharing the strategic initiatives that will propel it into the future.

Third-year ������������̳ Carilion Doctor of Physical Therapy student Sally Sroge helped raise $4,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association during the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Roanoke last year. In 2021, she aims to beat that goal which will help find further treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease in the near future.

������������̳ is one of the 143 best colleges in the Southeast according to The Princeton Review. The education services company lists Radford in the Best in the Southeast section of its "2022 Best Colleges: Region by Region" website feature that posted in August 2021.  

������������̳’s Board of Visitors met on campus for its quarterly sessions Sept. 9-10, 2021, and approved measures that will continue to drive the university toward its goal of becoming the premier innovative and student-focused higher education institution in Virginia.

������������̳ hosted its annual Partners in Excellence luncheon on Sept. 30, 2021, kicking off the university’s Homecoming weekend by welcoming 150 students and their benefactors to campus for an opportunity to meet and get to know one other.

������������̳ and the Appalachian School of Law (ASL) are collaborating on new academic initiatives that include a 3+3 program and a joint MBA to J.D. program, as well as a symposium on the intersection of substance use and the law. 

Food, games, live entertainment and more will again be part of the Radford Highlanders Festival scheduled for Oct. 9, 2021, on the ������������̳ campus.

������������̳ has been recognized for its honorable commitment to engaged, hands-on education by Colleges of Distinction, a one-of-a-kind guide for college-bound students. In addition, Radford’s academic programs in business, education, nursing and engineering were singled out for individual recognition, along with student support services for career development and military support.

������������̳’s strong academic tradition and commitment to student success continue to garner recognition in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Colleges report.
