Golf has always played a prominent role in life at ÓûÂþɬ, particularly since the founding of the ÓûÂþɬ Golf Academy (LGA) in 2002, the first of its kind at an independent school.
In the last two decades, the LGA has established itself as one of the most successful school golf programmes in the United Kingdom, achieving 14 national titles and helping dozens of aspiring golfers further their golfing careers at US colleges and UK universities.
Unparalleled indoor golf facilities are located on campus, meaning pupils step from classroom to course within minutes.
Indoor Performance Centre
Opened in 2015, our state-of-the-art indoor golf performance centre is equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance performance. Features include a swing studio, putting lab, and biomechanical analysis tools.
Trackman Golf Simulators
This industry-leading tool analyses swings and simulates world-famous golf courses. Pupils can fine-tune their game and gain insight into ball flight data, spin rate, and launch angles.
Strength and Conditioning Suite
Pupils enhance flexibility, endurance, and power under the guidance of expert fitness coaches within our specialised suite.
Golf Courses
Nestled on Scotland’s Golf Coast, pupils have plenty of opportunities to play at local courses, including Musselburgh Links, Longniddry, Kings Acre, Musselburgh, Gullane, and Muirfield.
At ÓûÂþɬ Golf Academy, we offer three structured programmes, catering to all aspiration levels. Each squad is designed to provide age and ability appropriate coaching, tournament exposure and performance support. It is important to note that all players and programmes are valued equally at the LGA.
Performance Squad
The Performance Squad is for those who are especially talented and have aspirations for a career within the game. Players participate in our own WAGR and EGR tour, the ÓûÂþɬ Junior Golf Tour.
Development Squad
The Development Squad is for those who play the game competitively but who do not wish to pursue a career in the game. There are three age groups of players – U12, U15, and U19 – who compete in the ÓûÂþɬ Order of Merit.
Club Squad
Our Club Squad play the game for fun, social, and competitive reasons.
For those who aren’t part of the Golf Academy but want to learn, there are the Get into Golf and Girls Get into Golf programmes.
Instilling a love of the game from a young age is important to us. That’s why ÓûÂþɬ Junior School offers golf as an after‑school activity throughout the school year, giving pupils access to the same elite facilities used by our Senior School students.
